Hey, Lokmas are a Turkish dessert that it’s really easy to make! The dough is composed of a few ingredients and the steps are ridiculously simple! Even the syrup is easy as can be!
**Ingredients**
-Dough
* 8g instant dry yeast
* 5g sugar
* 290ml water, warm
* 260g flour
* 5g fine salt
* Vegetable oil, for frying
-Syrup
* 400g sugar
* 475ml water
* 30ml lemon juice
**Instructions**
Step 1- Dough
1. In a bowl, combine flour and salt, sugar and yeast
2. Add in the warm water and mix with a wooden spoon until the dough seems elastic
3. Cover and place in a warm area for 1 1/2 hours it should have doubled.
Step 2 – Syrup
1. Bring all the ingredients to a boil
2. Let it simmer for 10 minutes until it is syrupy
Step 3 – Frying
1. Preheat vegetable oil to 375°F.
2. Use a pastry bag to contain the dough.
3. Use scissors to put the quantity you like into vegetable oil and allow to cook for about a couple minutes on each side, until each side is a golden brown color.
4. Immediately soak the lokma into the syrup for a minute before taking them out.
