The clocks go forward this weekend, which means balmy days are just around the corner.
Nothing beats a refreshing scoop of ice cream on a sunny spring or hot summer day and an Australian foodie has shared a unique hybrid recipe which merges the iced dessert with a popular cake flavour and cookies.
Mon Mack Foods, from Brisbane, shared a TikTok video explaining how to make red velvet Oreo ice cream.
The recipe requires just three simple ingredients – cream, sweetened condensed milk and red velvet Oreos.
In the clip, she can be seen whipping a cup of cream until soft peaks form. She then adds half a cup of sweetened condensed milk and continues to stir until smooth.
After, she takes one packet of red velvet Oreos and places them in a freezer bag before crushing them with a rolling pin and adding them to the cream mixture.
Following that, she pours the mixture into a container, crumbles more of the cookies on top and leaves it in the freezer to set for 12 hours.
There’s no denying that the sweet treat has gone down well with her 99,000 followers, with many commenting that they were going to try the recipe as soon as possible.
It’s worth pointing out that red velvet Oreos are only available for a limited time and it looks like it’s significantly harder to get hold of them in the UK. However, the same recipe can be used with regular Oreos – it just won’t have the added twist.
Of course, it’s worth experimenting with your favourite biscuits, too, whether that’s Biscoff or bourbons.
Mon Mack Foods went viral earlier this year after posting a brilliant kitchen hack where she explained an easy way to get the exact right amount of baking paper for your circular tin every time.
First she cuts a piece of baking paper, which she then folds it into a square and then a triangle.
After, she folds the triangle again to turn it into a point shape and puts the tip directly in the centre of a circular cake tin to measure it and cuts it at the edge.
When she opens it up, she has the perfect circle which fits to the size of her tin.
She also saved us a load of faff with this hack to easily squeeze all the juice out of a lemon.
