New Recipe: Marcus Rashford and Tom Kerridge are working together to help families beat child food poverty

Tom Kerridge has just announced an exciting new project with football star and child food poverty campaigner Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United player captured the nation’s heart last year when his passionate advocating for free school meals over the school holidays caused a government u-turn on the issue. And he’s stayed raising awareness, joining campaigns and putting his weight behind the issue of child food poverty since.

Bringing together Marcus’ amazing success in championing the issue, and Tom’s chef expertise, it appears the goal is to help families with cooking on low budgets cook healthy and cook smart.

There’s little information released yet but we know the project is being backed by the Child Food Poverty Task Force. As it’s also supported by Facebook and Instagram, we suspect it will be some kind of web video series hosted on the platforms. Though it could also be in another format, such as recipe cards.

Sharing a smiling picture of the pair on the pitch, Tom’s Instagram post revealed the name of the project ,’Full Time‘, and the tagline; ‘Get cooking with Marcus and Tom.’

When can we expect the project? Well it doesn’t seem there will be too long to wait, as Tom captioned the post: “Something very exciting coming soon … Keep an eye out and follow @fulltimemeals on Instagram and Facebook 👀”

His choice of hashtags help give an idea of what it’s all about, using the tags #endchildfoodpoverty and #familyrecipes, it’s safe to say the pair will be providing families with healthy and affordable recipes and meal plans to make tight budgets go further.

We don’t know if it will be targeted at just parents or if it will be for the whole family, either way it’s a brilliant idea.
